Full members

According to PEEMPIP’s Articles of Association, full membership is open to:
anyone who legally holds a degree from the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting of the Ionian University in the specialisation of Translation, or a degree issued by another university whose equivalency has been certified and recognised by the competent authority, and

  • either practises the profession of translator and/or related translation professions on a self-employed basis, after registering with the competent financial authorities of the country
  • or is employed as a translator and receives payments that are documented in accordance with the relevant tax provisions,
  • or provides services as an employee to natural or legal persons in the private, public and wider public sector, mainly involving translation and the associated professional activities and other related tasks.

The possession of a degree must be proven with a copy of the degree certificate from the above-mentioned Department of the Ionian University, or with a degree certificate from another university whose equivalence has been certified and recognised by the competent authority

Associate members

According to PEEMPIP’s Articles of Association, associate membership is open to:

  • students of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting of the Ionian University specialising in Translation
  • graduates of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting of the Ionian University in the specialisation of Translation (or holders of an equivalent degree issued by another university, whose equivalency has been certified and recognised by the competent authority) who do not work as self-employed translators, or work in other fields or areas

Associate members have the right to participate and express their opinion in Assemblies, but do not have the right to vote, and to be voted for office.
